Nearly a year later

Well, as you can see, my experiment in blogging about the Roomba was pushed aside by other, more pressing matters.

Today we no longer have a Roomba. Over the course of the past year we've had three or four, I cannot remember. We also owned a Scooba for a while.

We had to return the first Roomba after about 6 weeks due to failure.
The second and third Roombas also failed eventually, even though my son and I made efforts to keep each of them clean and unclogged.

Overall, I'd say Roombas simply aren't ready for heavy, day-to-day use. They are very clever indeed, but just not solidly enough constructed to work more than a few months unless you keep it in the closet most of the time.
